Arrival and Dismissal:
*Arrival: Please have your child arrive any time after 7:30AM with a book to read.
*At 8:00AM, students should be in the classroom preparing for the day, ready to watch The Bennett Bear Talk Show (Bennett's morning announcements).
*Dismissal: This year, we have a revised dismissal time of 3:07PM. Safety is our priority! During arrival and dismissal, if you are NOT in the carpool line, please park and walk up to the school so that your child may enter or exit the building. Kindly use the crosswalks. Motioning a child to cross the parking lot unaccompanied during carpool time and parents crossing traffic in locations other than the crosswalks are quite dangerous. Thank you for helping us keep your child, the school staff, and you safe!

Dismissal Changes:
If there is ever a change in your child's routine transportation arrangements, please send the homeroom teacher a note or email about it. Without written verification, your child will be sent home the usual way that you indicated at the beginning of the year.
If a last minute change occurs during the school day, kindly call the Bennett front office at (469) 302-5400 by no later than 2:00PM that day so that the teacher can be notified. No changes to dismissal may be made after 2:30PM.

Keep Us Informed:
If your child ever experiences anxiety or frustration about anything at school, each teacher is open to sort through any problem or concern early on. Please email or send a note to let us know. A conference or phone call can clear up a lot of concerns and make the days more enjoyable and successful for your child, which is our ultimate goal.

*Each week for your convenience, a message that includes the grade level website link is emailed to you by your child's teachers so that you can easily access the 4th grade newsletter.
*In addition, a weekly campus newsletter is emailed from Mrs. Holderman, our principal. It is called Bennett Bear Business so be looking for it.
*We encourage you to follow the teachers on Twitter to see what the students are doing and learning in class each week.
*We strive to build each child's independence and awareness of his/her learning style so personal goals can be set and achieved. Birthdays:
*In an effort to keep students safe, MISD policy states that we may no longer celebrate birthdays in the cafeteria or classroom with any FOOD items. We want the focus to be on the children's health and wellness. If you so choose, your child may bring a birthday pencil, sticker, etc. for EACH child in the homeroom class. Of course, you are welcome to visit and have lunch with your child to celebrate his/her special day! Our routine lunch time is from 12:30-1:00PM.
*In order to be respectful, birthday invitations may NOT be distributed at school unless every classmate receives an invitation. If not, please take care of this during non-school hours.
*Any birthday deliveries will be held in the front office until dismissal, at which time the student may drop by to get it before leaving for the day. FYI...per MISD policy, NO HELIUM balloons are allowed on campus.
